Founded in 1986
President Pam Stamper, a former owner of a General Contracting company, opened door distributorship to take advantage of the niche market created when the area distributor absolved lines of Corbin and Amweld.
Allegany Door strategically converted to a Curries Hollow Metal distributor to benefit from increased productivity, custom metal capabilities and expedited lead times.
Allegany Door & Hardware was certified by the Maryland Department of Transportation as a Woman Owned Minority Enterprise (MDOT WMBE #91-188). With NAICS codes expanded to include Metal Windows and Doors, Wood Merchant Wholesaler, and Hardware Merchant Wholesaler.
Russwin and Yale lines were added to meet the growing demand of customers. Allegany also soon opened lines with Von Duprin and LCN to boost market share. To ensure a competitive advantage various lines of hinges, flat goods, gasketing, electrical hardware, access control and wood doors were included to product supply.
Monica Pokrywka was promoted to Vice President. Monica holds a bachelors degree in Business Management from Salisbury University and has been employed by Allegany Door & Hardware since 1998.
Pam Stamper earned her A.H.C (Architectural Hardware Consultant) Certification after years of education and hours of testing with the Door & Hardware Institute.
